Dual Sensor Smoke and Fire Alarm with 10-Year Sealed Battery
The First Alert SA3210 10-Year Battery Dual Sensor Alarm provides early warning of both flaming and smoldering fires. Additionally, its intelligent sensing technology is designed to cut down on nuisance alarms from cooking smoke or other common false-alarm triggers. A single button both silences and tests the smoke detector for simple operation. The built-in 10-year lithium metal battery provides continuous power, with no need to ever worry about changing the battery over the lifetime of the smoke detector, and it can be easily installed anywhere without wires.
Dual Sensors Detect Different Types of Fires
This First Alert Smoke and Fire Alarm comes equipped with two different sensors to offer the earliest possible warning of a fire. The ionization sensor detects flaming fires, such as grease fires or wastebasket fires, while the photoelectric sensor detects smoldering fires, such as when a lit cigarette ignites clothing or upholstery. Both sensors work together to provide complete smoke and fire detection.
Intelligent Sensing Technology Minimizes False Alarms
People sometimes disable a fire detector when it goes off due to cooking smoke or steam, even though in doing so they endanger themselves and their loved ones. Intelligent Sensing Technology in the First Alert Dual-Sensor Smoke and Fire Alarm is designed to distinguish between real fires and nuisances, reducing false alarms significantly so there is never a need to disable the alarm.
Ten Years of Smoke and Fire Protection
This smoke and fire alarm is powered by ten year sealed lithium batteries. The batteries will not have to be replaced during the span of the alarm's ten year operation. Dual sensing technology and a decade's worth of protection provides an elite defense in alerting others to the presence of smoke and fire in the home.
First Alert Photoelectric/Ionization Smoke and Fire Alarm SA3210
* Meets California, New York and New Jersey 10 Year Smoke Alarm Requirements
Ionization smoke alarms are designed to quickly identify fast flaming fires. These fires can be categorized by their ability to generate and combust at an advanced speed (i.e. kitchen grease fires or fires fueled by paper burning in a wastebasket).
Photoelectric smoke alarms specialize in detecting slow smoldering fires. These fires can be categorized by their propensity to produce large smoke particles that can smolder for hours before bursting into larger flames (i.e. fires caused by cigarettes or candles burning on couches or bedding).
For maximum protection and full coverage from both types of fires, First Alert Dual Sensing Smoke Alarms offer elite protection with their photoelectric and ionization sensing capabilities.
Smoke alarms can beep for to the following reasons:
- Low Battery: This is the most common cause. Most smoke detectors use a chirping sound (usually a single beep every 30-60 seconds) to warn you that the batteries are running low and need to be replaced. Don't wait until the alarm is silent - replace the batteries right away to ensure your smoke alarm continues to function properly.
- End of Life: Smoke alarms don't last forever. If your smoke detector is beeping constantly or in a different pattern than the low battery chirp, it may be nearing the end of its intended lifespan and should be replaced altogether.
- Power Source: Battery Operated

First Alert Dual Sensor 10-Year Battery Smoke and Fire Alarm - SA3210 Reviews
Recently replaced our First Alert 10 year ionization smoke detectors, model 0827B after a solid 10 years of service 6 detectors in all and upgraded to these, which detect both ionization and photoelectric fire/smoke in hopes we will never need the alert.
My three First Alert 10-year smoke alarms Model SA340 that I placed in three rooms of my house in 2012 were due for replacement. I had been _very_ happy with them. So, of course, I was going to replace them with new First Alert alarms, and I decided to upgrade to these FA Dual Sensor Photoelectric/Ionization Smoke and Fire Alarms with 10-Year Sealed Batteries Model SA3210. The First Alert Store offered a three-pack--perfect for me! I was delighted to discover that these SA3210 alarms fit on the same mounting brackets as the SA340 alarms, so I didn't have to drill new holes in the walls! The new smoke and fire alarms work right out of the box. This was an excellent transaction, and I am a very satisfied customer.
I have had 7 of the First Alert Dual Sensor alarms on and off in my home for about 37 years now. At times I could not get this model, and had to resort to those by another manufacturer. I have owned different SA3210 models as they progressed from 9 volt, to AA, to sealed batteries. It is the most reliable fire in my opinion. It only goes off when we are cooking a smoky dinner or are near an open bathroom door with a lot of moisture. The big box stores have not been carrying this model, why I do not know. Hopefully I will continue to get it online, especially now that NY State requires sealed batteries. Thank you for making such a quality and reliable product!
I purchased this detector because the one I had kept going off. At first I replaced the battery, that wasn't the problem. It was the humidity. This one is perfect.
replacing the 9 volt battery version after 10 years of service. Purchased on website - easy and quick. Shipping free and quick Instillation instructions were clear and the installation process were smoothly. Base of this unit match size and anchor hold of the old unit - so no marks on the wall.
This is a very useful item because it lasts for 10 years without having to change the battery. Also it has two methods of detecting smoke and fire.
I ordered a total of four detectors. Of the four, so far, two have activated for no apparent reason. If they continue, I will Return them for a refund.
good looking, easy to install, and gives us a safe feeling knowing smoldering or flaming fires are going to be detected.
Great product. Great service. Great price.
I ordered 6 smoke detectors to install as required by our local fire code. I selected these detectors since they covered both smoldering and fast fires with ionic and photoelectric sensors. I ordered the carbon monoxide detectors EWill separately. The installation was easy and the directions clear. The real test is how they work! The hall detector did appropriately respond to some mild cooking smoke. No false alarms to date after 1 month. Will test regularly to assure they respond and batteries remain good.
