I am very happy with the purchase of the First Alert BRK/Kidde Smoke Alarm Adapter Plug. They prevented me from having to rewire from my old Kidde wiring. With the First Alert BRK/Kidde Smoke Alarm Adapter Plug I was able to connect the 5 First Alert BRK SC7010BV that I had purchased. After weeks of trying to find a solution I am extremely happy with my purcahse.
These were key to easily make the switch from our old Kidde alarms to First Alert- no wires to strip and reconnect- just switch out mounting plate and plug them in. When you have 8 or so detectors to change, it saves a huge amount of time.

I switched out all of my old smoke detectors with new smoke detector/CO monitors and needed several of these adapters to install them. I tried to order them on Amazon but kept receiving the wrong adapters. Decided to order directly from First Alert.
The adapter is simply great. Retrofit old to new quickly. If you have several to change from old to new this adapter is the only way to go.
Adapter was the perfect match. Only needed 2. Had to buy 12. Smaller packages might be a good option.
The adapter worked great to connect my hard wired old alarms to the new alarms. Easy fit, no muss, no fuss. I only wish they were sold in fewer than a 12 pack. I only needed 6 so, cost was more than it needed to be. BUT the time saved instead of messing around with wiring made up for it.

For reasons know to the industry, all electric units underwent a change and the familiar triangular configuration for the interconnect and power in now in a straight row. They expect you to cut, strip, and wire nut the new cable. This takes up too much room and is dangerous to do at the top of a ladder. This item eliminates the need and it perfect. I love First Alert, and I own a hardware store that sells a different brand. I bought outside to keep First Alert.
