A good package that contained 2 fairly good looking meters run by 2 AA batteries included. Installation instructions were clear and the installation itself was easy two sheetrock screws each -- also included. The testing button is very large and makes testing easy, if youve mounted them on the ceiling, just use a stick to depress the test button. Although necessarily high pitched and loud, the test is short unlike my smoke detectors. All in all Id recommend these.

2 Pack Carbon Monoxide Detectors

I originally purchased 9 packs of these but have only installed 4 so far, I am not seeing the false alarms as noted by some others. However it is confusing that it is rated for 5 years, but it is not clear if its from manufacture date or install date. I had to call First Alert to find out and spent over 15 mins on the phone tree, waiting and finally given a correct number to call.

We installed these in all the bedrooms. They were replacements for another brand that would not stop chirping no matter what we did. These are much much nicer.

It is very important to install carbon monoxide alarms near or in each separate sleeping area. Many states now require that a carbon monoxide alarm is placed in each bedroom.
