I replaced 4 hard wired smoke detector that were 28 years old. The connector of the new ones were exactly the same which made replacing them a breeze
I like the voice and location feature of this alarm. You can set one of several locations so when the battery is low or the device needs attention, you know which device needs attention vs. hunting for the beeping device. I will continue to buy these to replace older units in our home.

Replace and old unit. Easier than trying to find out why it stopped working
I liked the programmable voice location feature when installing this in my sister's home. First Alert is currently the only brand with this feature. As alarms need changing elsewhere in my own home I will continue using this feature.
Bought this to replace the battery only alarm to tie into the other hardwired home First Alert alarms. Works as expected.
All is as expected
I have just recently replaced all my smoke detectors throughout our 10 room B&B. I bought all First Alert units and particularly like the 2 AA battery design rather than the 9 volt. I the combination smoke and carbon monoxide are excellent units and I used the link feature so if one goes off the other alerts. The batteries are much cheaper.
Installation was easy. I like that it has two tones to distinguish smoke from CO2. However, the voice commands are a little hard to understand.
This product installation is quick and easy. This product is quick to respond in sequence with others in the system. The product is very loud and will notify you immediately.
Smoke alarms can beep for to the following reasons:
- Low Battery: This is the most common cause. Most smoke detectors use a chirping sound (usually a single beep every 30-60 seconds) to warn you that the batteries are running low and need to be replaced. Don't wait until the alarm is silent - replace the batteries right away to ensure your smoke alarm continues to function properly.
